Stewardship & Evangelization Opportunities
Stewardship & Evangelization Commission (SEC)
The SEC is based on stewardship pillars of Prayer, Formation, Hospitality, Service and Treasure. The SEC serves the parish community by develping oppportunities to 1) learn to become intentional disciples, 2) proclaim Jesus as Lord and build up the Body of Christ both inside the parish and beyond the parish, through sharing the Gospel in our spheres of influences and 3) to honor and serve God by building His kingdom through stewarding our gifts of time, talent and treasure. No training is required. Regular meetings are held monthly for 1 hour. (An additional 1-2 hours occasionally may be needed during project implementation.) Care Call Ministry
The Parish Care Call Ministry supports the parish priorities of generous hospitality and loving service by making check-in calls to parishioners.The calls are intended to help the parishioner maintain connection to the paish by expressing concern for their welfare, determine their pastoral needs, obtain their their prayer request and answer gereral questions. This ministry is part of the Stewardship and Evangelization Commission's Service Team. Home Intercessor Prayer Ministry
A home intercessor provides prayer for the petitions of parishioners, as well as special parish initatives. If you have an active personal prayer life and are able to pray for the needs of others from home, this ministry is for you. No training is required. This ministry is part of the Sterwardship and Evangelization Commission's Prayer and Formation team, to conect your time and talents with this ministry contact Cathy Post at [email protected]
Location: Work-From-Home Time Commitment: 15 minutes per day
New Parishioner Welcome Team Ministry
In order to help new parishioners feel welcome and connected to the Body of Christ through our parish, members of the Welcome Team reach out to new parishioners and deliver the Q.A.S. welcome folder to their home or by meeting at the Legacy Center. Team members may partner together to accomplish this. The Welcome Team assists with a New Parishioner Welcome Breakfast which is held every other year and involves a few hours of setup, mingling at the breakfast and clean up. If you have the gift of hospitality and are a good communicator this ministry would benefit from your time and talents. Personal Outreach Caller
The personal Outreach Caller extends invitations to parish events as well as informs of opportunities to assist with events/parish projects. If you like to connect with others, have courteous phone skills, are able to gather details to disseminate information to others and provide follow up this might be for you. This is 30 minustes a week, is done from yoour home anround your schedule. Parish Office Volunteer
Parish Office Volunteers assist the parish office staff with gereral office and reception duties in the church office. Volunteer duties may include stuffing bulletins or envelopes, greeting visitors, answering the phone, operating the copy machine. Most duties are performed between the hours of 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. If you have a welocming personality and would like to connect your time and talent to this ministry, please contact Stacey Gushrowski if you are interested at 219-872-9196.
Legacy Café Helpers
We offer coffee, tea, a treat and most importantly, fellowship at the Legacy Cafe after each Mass. We welcome you to come and spend some time connecting with your parish family. New volunteers are always welcome! No training is needed to become a member, and hours of service will depend on your availability, so if you enjoy welcoming and serving others and want to connect your time and atalent to this ministry contact Anne Marie Wiltfong at [email protected] or 219-575-2769.
