Peace & Social Justice Commission

The Peace and Social Justice Commission promotes and defends the dignity of each human person locally, nationally and internationally. It collaborates with other commissions and organizations, such as Catholic Charities, Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Medical Mission Board, and Heifer International in implementing programs which include works of charity and addressing systemic issues such as poverty, homelessness, hunger and violence.

Peace and social justice are essential elements of the Gospel of Jesus and, as such, is the work of the whole parish. There is much to do. Teens assembled Blessing Bags for the homeless.

Parishioners who desire to be more fully involved are encouraged and invited to join in the fulfilling work of Peace and Social Justice. Please contact Vicki Berlanga ([email protected]) if you are interested in this ministry.

The response to the Ornament Tree during the Christmas Season was overwhelming. Our boxes were overflowing with gifts to donate to the families in need. We partnered with Catholic Charities to provide Christmas gifts to families in our community. We also sponsor a Christmas in July program wherein we supply St. Anthony hospital with baby clothes for new families through parishioner donations.
