About Queen of All Saints Catholic Church
Welcome to Queen of All Saints Parish! Queen of All Saints was established in 1950 and is a parish in the Diocese of Gary, located about two miles from the shore of Lake Michigan in Michigan City, Indiana. Come visit our parish and experience the inspiring worship, excellent faith formation, loving service and generous hospitality as we seek to continue the ministry of Jesus.
Our Mass Schedule:
- Saturday Vigil Mass is at 4:30 pm
- Sunday Mass: 7:30 am, 10:30 am and 1:00 pm in Spanish.
- M/W/F weekday Mass is at 7:30 am
- T/TH Mass is at 8:30 am with the QAS School.
Sunday 7:30 am mass is livestreamed every week.
HISTORY
In 1950, John Francis Noll, Bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, established Queen of All Saints Parish on the east side of Michigan City. Father John Roessler was appointed by Bishop Noll as the first Pastor of this parish, which enjoys the patronage of Mary. He was soon followed by Fr. Leonard Cross who cared for the sacramental and pastoral needs of Catholics in this section of Michigan City from 1951 until 1970.
In 1970, Bishop Andrew G. Grutka assigned Fr. Alfred Dettmer to Queen of All Saints Parish as its Pastor. Under his leadership, the current church was constructed and the parish community continued to grow. After his retirement in 1996, Fr. Michael Yardon was assigned to the parish for seven years as the fourth Pastor of Queen of All Saints Church. He was succeeded as Pastor by Fr. Terrence Chase in 2003. Fr. Kevin Huber was assigned in 2010 and served for 11 years as pastor overseeing the addition, construction, and full debt-repayment of the Legacy Center on the Michigan City grounds. Our current pastor, Fr. David Kime was assigned to Queen of All Saints Parish in 2021.
Queen of All Saints Parish includes 1,000 registered families, a grade school that educates 206 students from pre-school to 8th grade; a religious education program that offers Catholic formation to more than 150 children in grades 1-9, and a Sunday school program for children ages 3-5; a church that seats 700 people and Christ the King Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.
With an active parish pastoral council and commissions, Queen of All Saints Parish offers more than 50 unique ministries. Above all, as proclaimed in the parish’s mission statement, Queen of All Saints seeks to share the good news about Catholicism through worship that inspires, loving service, excellent faith formation and generous hospitality.
