Wendy Shafer

Parish Bookkeepr

Strengths  -   Connectedness, Responsibility, Input, Intellection, Maximizer

I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago.  I raised my two sons in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.  I have been married to my wonderful husband, George, for 14 years.  Being empty nesters, we moved to Michigan City about 5 years ago to be closer to our 11 grandchildren, and to have a little more elbow room than the suburbs of Chicago allow.  I have a very diverse career background that ranges from secretarial, bookkeeping, extensive sales experience, and even volunteer coordination.  I have been involved in Parish life, in all the parishes I’ve been a part of, doing everything from being a Lecturer, a Catechist, Lay Leader of Prayer, Speaker and Centering Prayer Leader.  I am an Alumni of Fr. Richard Rohr’s, first Living School program at the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I am very passionate about two things: the care of God’s Creation, in all its forms, and Centering Prayer.

I am excited to be welcomed by the community of Queen of All Saints and look forward to both working here and becoming a part of the parish.

Brent Bassett
