Alpha is a series of 11 sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome.
Food - Food has a way of bringing people together. Every Alpha session starts with a meal! We start with food, because it's a great way to relax and get to know each other (and it's tasty!)
A Film - We'll watch a 30-minute film that's designed to inspire good conversation. They explore big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as: "Who is Jesus?" and "How can we have faith?"
Discussion - Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic and discuss as a small group. You're not forced to say anything, and nothing is out of bounds. These discussions are a great opportunity to hear from others and share your thoughts in a friendly and open environment.
1. "My friend doesn't go to Church, can they come to Alpha?"
YES, Alpha is for anyone and everyone -- If you're an atheist, if you haven't been to Church in a few years, or if you've never been to Church, you are welcome and invited to come and see what Alpha is all about.
2. "I've been a practicing Catholic for years, should I come to Alpha?"
YES, Alpha creates an opportunity for good conversation, and an authentic encounter with Christ. Regardless of where you are in your faith journey, these conversations and encounters with Christ are always important and fulfilling!
We need your help to make Alpha a success! Can you help with meal prep and serving, be a parking lot greeter, make cookies, or help clean up? High school students are welcome to complete service hours this way too! Please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/arFmiCV and
