Queen of All Saints Parish
cathyl@qas.org

Cathy LaughlinThank you for visiting our website!  I joined Queen of All Saints Parish family over fourteen years ago and became a member of the staff eleven years ago.  I have served as the Bookkeeper and Business Manager at Queen of All Saints. In January, 2015, I was given the opportunity to serve as the Manager of Parish Operations and Ministry.  In this position, I will serve in a leadership capacity to implement the parish action plan and annual operating plan.  I feel blessed to work with the staff of Queen of All Saints Parish and our ministry members to play a small part in His vision for our parish to be a  . . . center for Catholic evangelization, faith formation, and ministry in the Diocese of Gary. Under the leadership of Fr. Kevin HuberI have led the following initiatives; formation of the Development Council, the Living Legacy Program, the Gallup M25 Survey, the Living Your Strengths Programs,  the Growing Engaged Church Program, the Ministry Fair and the Parish Guidebook.  I started working with volunteer programs over 30 years ago; serving as a volunteer at St. Anthony’s Hospital, as an employee of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and in a leadership role in Catholic Schools.  After ten years of working for a national for profit corporation and ten years as a co-owner of a local business,  I feel Jesus has put me back on the original path he was leading me down many years ago of serving His church and serving  the less fortunate of our community.  I look forward to meeting you soon and to helping you continue the call He has given all of us, to be a Saint in Action.

Daniel Marias
Bookkeeper
Queen of All Saints Parish
danm@qas.org

Daniel MariasI currently serve on the Board of Directors at Bishop Noll Institute. I have been in the accounting discipline all of my adult life. I was retired all of three days when Father Kevin asked me to become part of the administrative team at Queen of All Saints Parish. It has proven to be one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life. I have met and worked with so many wonderful people here at Queens.

I can truly attest to the power of prayer in that I had been saying the following prayer for well over a year prior to my retirement from full employment: “Lord, help me to know what the next step is in my life. I cannot stay put where I am, but I am not sure what comes next. Show me the path for my life or at least for the next portion of it…”

Evonne Jankowski
Teacher’s Aide
Queen of All Saints School
ejankowski@qas-school.org

Evonne JankowskiHi, I am Evonne Jankowski. I grew up in a small town in Virginia. My parents taught us the importance of loving God, our family and ourselves. They placed a high value on learning, and I know how proud I made them when I received my High School Diploma. A college education was a luxury we could not afford at the time, so I chose an alternate path.

I met and married my wonderful husband of 12 years, Donald Jankowski. Our family was complete with the arrivals of our daughter, Alexia, and our son, Donald. I began working at a Christian day-care center, and stayed there for eight years until they closed their doors in 2011. Then I joined the Queens staff as an aide, which allowed me to continue my work assisting teachers in educating children in a Christian setting. I plan on continuing my education for my own satisfaction, as well as showing my children that anything is possible as long as you put your heart and soul in it.

Rona (Sanchez) OrtegaI have been involved with Queen of All Saints School/Church since 1960. My name is Rona (Sanchez) Ortega. I have been married for 24 years to my wonderful husband Paul. We have three girls: Jamie, Carly and Mikki.

Baptized at Queen of All Saints, I received all of my sacraments here. I am a 1974 alumnus of Queen of All Saints myself. I have a step-brother and sister. I can remember my father working three jobs to send us all to Queens.

When Paul and I married and had our girls, we did whatever it took to send them through Queens. Our youngest is deaf, and it took everything we had to get her caught up and ahead so that she could also attend Queens. Queens welcomed her with open arms, and helped us help her be successful.

Through the years, I have been involved in many activities: sports coach, Girl Scout Leader, member of Home and School Association, room mother for over 12 years, and worker at parish festivals, fish fries, fun fairs, ice cream socials, etc.

I currently work as a teacher’s aide in the Pre-K classroom. I absolutely love my job and fellow faculty/staff members, as well as the children I am involved with daily.
