Eucharistic Holy Hour For Religious Vocations
Bishop Donald Hying will lead us in prayer and present: The importance of the family in supporting vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
Music Ministry Vision Statement
Our vision as a music ministry is to promote an atmosphere of inspiring worship and to create an environment of prayerful participation and meditation.
The Music Ministry at Queen of All Saints offers a wide variety of musical experiences for parishioners of all ages. We are constantly welcoming new members to our ensembles. Our ministry is two-fold: to lead the assembly in worship and to enhance the liturgy through the singing of choral music.
The Saturday Adult Choir alternates with the Student Praise Choir in singing at the 4:30 P.M. Mass on Saturdays. Practice is held at 4:00 P.M. prior to the Mass. Frequently we have a combination of members from both choirs. New members and musicians who can play instruments are welcome to join us. Contact the Music Director Kathy Moskovich, 219-872-4420 Ext.114 for more information.
The Student Praise Choir invites any student in the parish to join. This choir alternates with the Saturday Adult Choir in leading the singing at the 4:30 P.M. Mass. Students also sing at the school Masses, school programs, and other liturgies throughout the year. Practice is held on Wednesday, 3:00-3:45 P.M. and at 4:00 P.M. on Saturdays during the school year. Many of our members join the adults on the alternating weeks. We would love to have some volunteers join us in playing some instruments. Contact Kathy Moskovich, 219-872-4420 Ext. 114 for more information.
Sunday Mass Choir sings for the 7:30 A.M. Mass each week. This group of singers is a smaller ensemble made up mostly of adults. There is no formal rehearsal for this group. We meet at 7:00 A.M. on Sunday mornings in the music room in the church to practice the music for that Sunday’s Mass. We are always in need of singers. All ages are welcome. Come join us in praising our Lord in song! Contact Adult Choir Director Terri Fogus, 219-878-5642 or email@example.com for more information.
The Adult Choir (geared for High School students and beyond) sings for Sunday 9:30 A.M. Mass each week and also at other special Holy Days and liturgies throughout the year. This is a larger group with 20 - 25 active members. Most of the music we sing is in SATB format from the Liturgical Mass parts, to traditional and more contemporary worship songs. Reading music is helpful, but not necessary. If you play an instrument, we would love to have you join us. Rehearsals are every Thursday, September through May, from 6:30 – 8:00 A.M. in the music room of the church. Contact the Adult Choir Director Terri Fogus, 219-878-5642 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The Contemporary Choir sings for the 11:30 A.M. Mass every Sunday, and on Holidays and holy days throughout the year. The group is approximately 10-15 members, and is comprised of members of all ages, often family groups or married couples (even some children!) We sing a variety of musical styles, from traditional hymns to gospel and contemporary music (which we try to use as prelude or meditation music each Sunday). We use 2-part, SAB and SATB arrangements, some Spanish/bilingual music. All music readers and non-readers are welcome. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, year round (not mandatory, but offered) from 7:00 or 7:30 to 8:30 or 9:00. It is a flexible situation, accommodating our members' family, school, and other obligations. We welcome new members, vocal and instrumental, and invite you to contact the Contemporary Choir Director Stephanie Sobecki, 219-851-2138 or email@example.com.
Resurrection Choir sings at all funeral Masses. Practice is held preceding the funeral and once a month as needed. Choir members are called when a funeral is scheduled at the parish. Contact the Music Director Kathy Moskovich, 219-872-4420 Ext. 114 for more information or Jerry Tillman at 219-878-0521.
The gift of music is a treasure to be shared! Whether you are interested in singing or are an instrumentalist of any kind, you can be sure that you will be joining people with whom you will share many wonderful moments of making music and lively fellowship. We invite you to “Make a joyful noise” and prayerfully consider offering your talents to this ministry. Formation retreats are also offered once a year.
“O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things.”
